Celebrating #DoSomethingDay 2018 with a free breakfast at The GDSC

Grafton District Services Club is taking part in ‘Do Something Day’ on Wednesday 25 July 2018 with a free breakfast and gathering for individuals and groups who contribute so much to the Grafton community including nurses, teachers, doctors, police, social workers, paramedics, firemen and women and all local volunteers.

The cooked breakfast will be held at Grafton District Services Club on Wednesday 25 July from 7.30-9am and is free for all to attend.

“We thought about what we wanted to do for ‘Do Something Day’ and showing thanks to the people who do so much for our community was top of the list” said The GDSC’s Marketing Coordinator Kristy Essex. “We know everyone is busy so a breakfast where people can drop in, grab a bite to eat, catch up with their colleagues and feel valued seemed ideal. These workers and volunteers are at the coalface in the community every day and it’s often a thankless job. We wanted to be able to highlight what they contribute and say ‘thanks’!” said Mrs Essex.

Do Something Day is an initiative by News Local, Leader Community News, Quest Community News and supported by ClubsNSW in NSW and is a day created to encourage Australians to do something kind, make someone smile, contribute and spread kindness.

“If you work in community services or volunteer in the community we would love to see you for breakfast”, continued Mrs Essex.
